But with Scott Lindsey at the helm, many knew that was not going to be the case. And after a season of brilliant football, fantastic results and a squad full of confidence, they have made it to the League play-offs where they will face MK Dons (first leg Monday May 6, 3pm at the Broadfield Stadium – second leg Thursday, May 9, 8pm).

Founded in 1896, Crawley Town FC initially played in local leagues until entering the Sussex County League in 1951. The club turned professional in 1962, later joining the Southern League and achieving success in the Premier Division.
Noteworthy moments include reaching the FA Cup third round in 1991-92, facing Brighton and Hove Albion. The sale of Town Mead in 1997 marked a transition to the Checkatrade Stadium. Under owner John Duly, the late 1990s brought cup successes and Southern League triumphs.

However, for 2024 they took a slightly different approach to the list as they want to find the 'most depressing' towns around Britain rather than just the worst places to live.
Discussing the creation of the list, the website wrote: "This year we have done something a little different. We wanted to highlight those towns that sap the residents [sic] will to live.

Rotherham United confirmed earlier today that the club had parted company with first team Head Coach Leam Richardson with immediate effect following the club’s relegation from the Championship where they only mustered four wins all season.
And within two hours, Rotherham announced Evans as the new man in charge. A club statement read: “Rotherham United are delighted to welcome back Steve Evans as the club’s new first team manager.
“Evans returns to AESSEAL New York Stadium alongside assistant Paul Raynor, with the duo signing contracts which will run until 2027.
“Talks with Steve, Paul and their representatives were opened upon permission being granted by Stevenage and the swift nature in which they were concluded outlines the desire of the club, Steve and Paul to make this move happen.

The 61-year-old led Stevenage to promotion to League One last season and has overseen a play-off chasing campaign this season, with the side currently sitting in 9th place.
Evans famously took Crawley Town the Football League and gained promotion from League Two to League One at their first attempt in a five year spell, before joining Rotherham United.
During his time at Reds, he took them to fifth round of the FA Cup which resulted in a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
Evans has since managed Leeds United, Peterborough United, Mansfield Town and Gillingham.
